New Delhi: Nawab Salahuddin Khan, a key figure behind Rahmani Foundation, passed away in Chicago at the age of 90.
A philanthropist and visionary, he donated his historic mansion, Nawab Koti, located in Belan Bazar, Munger, to Rahmani Foundation, established in 1996 by late Maulana Mohammad Wali Rahmani.
Khan had been battling age-related illnesses for many years. His passing has left a deep sense of loss among the members of Jamia Rahmani Khanqah in Munger and Rahmani Foundation.
By donating his residence, Nawab Salahuddin Khan made a lasting contribution to the community’s welfare. Maulana Mohammad Wali Rahmani transformed Nawab Koti into a hub for community service, establishing it as the cornerstone of Rahmani Foundation’s activities.
The Foundation has since grown into a distinguished institution, launching initiatives such as Rahmani Healthcare, Rahmani Computer Center, Rahmani 30, Rahmani School of Excellence, and Rahmani B.Ed College. One notable example of its impact is the annual restoration of eyesight for hundreds of individuals, regardless of their background or religion.
The Foundation is an NGO dedicated to advancing public health, education, social justice, environmental protection, and other humanitarian causes. It operates hundreds of educational centres, vocational training institutes, and healthcare facilities across the country.
Ameer Shariat Maulana Ahmed Wali Faisal Rahmani expressed his profound grief over Salahuddin Khan’s demise, acknowledging his role as the patron of Jamia Rahmani and the Rahmani Foundation. In his condolence message, he prayed for Allah’s blessings on Khan’s soul and offered support to his grieving family.
“Nawab Salahuddin Khan’s life was a testament to service and sacrifice for humanity,” Maulana Ahmed Wali Faisal Rahmani remarked.
“By donating his mansion, he exemplified the ultimate act of selflessness. His contribution has educated thousands of students and helped countless individuals in need. While his passing leaves a void, his legacy will endure through these institutions. We pray for his eternal peace and strength for his family.”
Maulana Mohammad Arif Rahmani, General Secretary of Jamia Rahmani, and Maulana Saleheen Nadvi, Secretary, also expressed their deep sorrow. They emphasised that Salahuddin Khan’s sacrifices would never be forgotten and pledged to continue his mission with God’s guidance.
