Three-Day Int’l Research Scholars’ Ghalib Seminar Concludes under the Auspices of Ghalib Institute and NCPUL

New Delhi: The three-day International Research Scholars’ Seminar, organised jointly by the Ghalib Institute and the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, concluded on September 21. On the final day, four technical sessions were held.

The first session was presided over by Prof. Abubakar Ebad. In his presidential address, he said, “I often say that every generation is more intelligent than the previous and the next. It questions facts and seeks answers in its own way. A glimpse of this was evident in the papers presented at this session. I am glad that the new generation is trying to view reality through its own eyes.”

In this session, papers were presented by Mr. Naveed Raza, Mr. Mohammad Faisal Khan, Mr. Mohammad Sultan, Mr. Mohammad Gul Nawaz Rabbani, and Mr. Mohammad Absar. The proceedings were conducted by Mr. Saif Azhar.

The second session was chaired by Prof. Ikhlaq Ahmad Ahan. In his address, he remarked, “Just as presenting a paper is a part of training, so too is listening to papers. Merely presenting the entire summary of research in a seminar is not very effective. It is more fruitful to focus on a single aspect and discuss it in detail.”

Papers in this session were read by Mr. Abdul Aleem, Mr. Khizr Ahmad, Mr. Saddam Hussain, Mr. Mohammad Rizwan Khan, and Ms. Tabassum Kauser, while Ms. Saima Samreen conducted the proceedings.

The third session was presided over by Prof. Syed Kaleem Asghar, who in his presidential speech said, “Every year, through this Research Scholars’ Seminar, the Ghalib Institute provides students with an opportunity to meet scholars from many universities of India and benefit from their discussions. This seminar has gained such popularity that even our Iranian colleagues frequently inquire about it and hold it in high regard.”

Papers were presented in this session by Mr. Hafeezur Rahman, Mr. Mohammad Mudasir, and Ms. Zainab Rahman. The session was conducted by Ms. Khushboo Parveen.

The fourth and final session was presided over by Prof. Abdul Haq. In his presidential address, he said, “I attended all the sessions today and was somewhat reassured that the caravan of Urdu-Persian research is moving toward its destination. I have seen many teachers with vast study backgrounds, yet due to lack of focus, they could not produce worthwhile work. I advise my students to always choose a specific area of specialization.”

Papers were presented by Mr. Farhan Baig, Mr. Ghulam Ali, Ms. Nighat, Ms. Anab Shameem, and Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, while the proceedings were conducted by Mr. Zubair Khan Saeedi.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the Director of the Ghalib Institute expressed gratitude to all paper presenters, chairpersons, session conductors, and participants.

He said, “This time, several excellent papers have been presented, which is truly encouraging. I am confident that in future too, you will participate in large numbers in this seminar.”

Apart from research scholars, many distinguished teachers of Delhi and lovers of learning also attended in large numbers.
