Kolkata, Jan. 30: A 17-year-old boy was killed allegedly for not repaying a loan in Metiabruz. After this incident, tension prevailed in the entire area. The family claims that the boy, who used to work at a factory, was killed and hanged. Police recovered the body. After the post-mortem, the body was returned.
Locals staged a protest demanding immediate arrest of those responsible for the death of the teenager. They blocked the road and allegedly attacked the police and set afire a police car. Several people were injured in the clash.
The boy’s family members claimed that the teenager owed some money to a local person. “Somebody knocked at the door and took him away on Saturday night, demanding the due money. Since then, the young boy could not be found.”
A family member said, “That boy was very calm. He committed no crime. He was killed and hanged. That is why the locals are getting angry. We want the culprits to be punished immediately.”
The police informed that an investigation is being conducted to find out how the death of the teenager happened and three people have been arrested. People identified them as Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed alias Rocky, Sheikh Sabir Ahmed alias Rony and Sheikh Sohail Ahmed alias Rohan, based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family.
