Three Muslim Youths Brutally Attacked in Hapur Over Religious Identity, Families Demand Justice

Hapur, Uttar Pradesh | In yet another disturbing incident of hate crime, three Muslim youths were brutally assaulted in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district on Tuesday after being identified by their religious identity, reported the India Times.
The victims, identified as Wasim, Rizwan, and Aamir, were returning home after work near Paratapur when they were confronted by a mob armed with sticks and iron rods. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers demanded the youths’ names and launched a violent assault upon realizing they were Muslims.
The victims suffered severe injuries, with Wasim’s condition reported as critical. He has been shifted to an emergency ward, while Rizwan and Aamir are also undergoing treatment for serious wounds.
The families of the victims have filed a formal complaint at Pilkhuwa Police Station, naming four accused individuals — Deepak, Nikhil, JJ Kabr, and Pankaj — as the perpetrators of the attack. They have demanded immediate arrests and swift legal action.
The assault has triggered anger and fear among local residents, who have demanded strong police intervention to prevent such communal violence in the future.
Responding to the outrage, Superintendent of Police Kunwar Gyananjay Singh assured that the case is being treated with utmost seriousness. “The culprits will not be spared,” he stated.
The incident has once again raised concerns about the rising trend of mob violence and Islamophobic attacks in Uttar Pradesh, leaving the Muslim community shaken and demanding stronger protections.
