Agartala: The Tripura government has directed all schools in the state to begin the daily assembly with the full version of the national song Vande Mataram, followed by the national anthem Jana Gana Mana.
Chief Minister Manik Saha announced the decision and shared the government notification, stating the measure aims to strengthen patriotism, discipline and national consciousness among students. He said the initiative seeks to promote national unity, respect for cultural heritage and a sense of responsibility among the younger generation.
According to the notification issued by the Education Department on July 3, the decision follows directives issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on January 28 regarding respect, decorum and the official version of the national song. The guidelines call for proper observance of the national song during formal, semi formal and educational programmes.
The notification stated the policy will apply across government schools, government aided schools, privately managed schools and all government aided and unaided recognised madrassa schools functioning under the administrative jurisdiction of Tripura.
The Education Department said the move aims to promote national integration and encourage respect for national symbols among students. It added that every school in the state will formally begin its academic routine with the collective singing of the full version of Vande Mataram, followed by the national anthem.
The notification was signed by Rajib Datta, Additional Secretary to the Government of Tripura. The state government said the directive establishes a uniform practice for all recognised schools across Tripura as part of the daily morning assembly.
