Trump Says Iran War Will End Soon, Warns Tehran Against Further Action

Washington: United States President Donald Trump said the ongoing war involving Iran will end soon, while issuing strong warnings to Tehran against any further military response. Speaking at a news conference in Florida, Trump described the conflict as a short term operation and claimed the United States and its allies had already achieved major objectives.

Trump said the conflict would conclude in the near future, though he did not provide a specific timeline. He warned Iran against attempting any retaliatory action. According to him, if Iran tried what he called “anything cute,” the consequences would be severe. He said any hostile move by Tehran would invite stronger military action from the United States.

During the news conference, Trump described the military campaign as a limited operation aimed at neutralising specific targets. He said the United States had undertaken what he called a short term excursion because it believed such action was necessary. He expressed confidence that the conflict would not continue for long.

In earlier remarks during a television interview, Trump claimed the war had largely achieved its objectives. He said Iranian military capabilities had suffered heavy damage. According to him, Iran had lost most of its naval strength, communication systems, and air power during the attacks.

The US president also asserted that the United States and its allies had destroyed a large portion of Iran’s missile launch infrastructure. He said American forces had eliminated about 80 percent of Iran’s missile launchers. Trump praised the US military for what he described as a remarkable operation.

Although he declared the United States had already achieved victory in many respects, Trump stated that the campaign would continue until complete security goals were met. He said the United States remained determined to remove what he described as long running threats.

Trump also defended the decision to launch attacks, arguing that Iran had been preparing to strike first. According to him, intelligence suggested Iran was ready to launch attacks within a week. He claimed Iran possessed a large number of missiles and planned to target Israel and other areas in the Middle East.

The president argued that American and Israeli action prevented what he described as a major regional attack. He said Iranian missile sites and launch systems were key targets of the operation.

His comments came shortly after the US Defense Department posted on social media that American forces had only begun the military campaign. The statement suggested the conflict could continue despite the president’s remarks about its approaching end.

The war began after joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets on February 28. The situation continues to draw global attention as leaders and analysts watch developments across the region.
