Two-Day National Conference of Idara Adab-e-Islami Maharashtra to be Held in Solapur

Solapur: The 19th Annual National Conference of Idara Adab-e-Islami Maharashtra will be held on February 1-2 in collaboration with the Department of Urdu, SSA College, Solapur. The conference, themed “The State of Society and the Role of Literature,” will be presided over by Dr. Saleem Khan, Vice President of Idara Adab-e-Islami Hind.

The inaugural session will take place on February 1 at 10 AM. On this occasion, Dr. Kaleem Zia will be honoured with the Hafeez Meerthi Award for his outstanding contributions to poetry, while Dr. Ghaznfar Iqbal will receive the Ismat Javed Award for his remarkable prose writings. Both awards include a cash prize of ₹30,000, a memento, a certificate of appreciation, and a shawl. Additionally, the poetic work “Mad’hat-e-Sahaba” by Mateen Achalpuri, published by the institution, will be launched.

The welcome address will be delivered by Professor Maqbool Ahmed Maqbool, President of Idara Adab-e-Islami Maharashtra. Bashir Parwaaz, President of Bazm-e-Ghalib, Professor I.J. Tamboli, Dr. Ismail Sheikh (Ameer-e-Maqami, Jamaat-e-Islami), and other dignitaries will attend as special guests. The conference will be anchored by Fareed Moonis, Secretary of Idara Adab-e-Islami Maharashtra, while Professor Muhammad Shafi Chobdar will deliver the vote of thanks.

The conference will feature six thematic sessions:

  1. Politics and Economy – Chaired by Dr. Faheemuddin Ahmed (Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad). Papers will be presented by Maseehuddin Abu Nabeel, Khan Hasnain Aqib, Dr. Ghaus Ahmed, Dr. Danish Ghani, and Dr. Hajira Parveen.
  2. Human Rights and Issues – Chaired by Professor Maqbool Ahmed Maqbool. Papers will be presented by Dr. Faheemuddin Ahmed, Dr. Ghaznfar Iqbal, Dr. Qureshi Ateeq Ahmed, Muhammad Yusuf Rahim, and Dr. Syed Aleemullah Husaini.
  3. Women and Youth – Chaired by Professor Muhammad Shafi Chobdar. Papers will be presented by Dr. Samiuddin, Muhammad Asrar, Dr. A.A. Bejapure, and Dr. Samiya Baghban.
  4. Hindi and Marathi Literature – Chaired by Sarfaraz Ahmed Sheikh. Papers will be presented by Dr. Rajendra Wadge, Dr. I. J. Tamboli, Dr. Devidas Gaikwad, Dr. Bhagwan Adatrao, and Dr. Subhash Vardhaman Shastri.
  5. Fiction Reading Session – Chaired by Noorul Hasnain. Stories will be read by Dr. Azeem Rahi, Maseehuddin Abu Nabeel, Dr. Haroon Rasheed Baghban, and Yusuf Rahim.
  6. Research Scholars’ Session – Chaired by Dr. Ghaus Ahmed. Papers will be presented by Noor Muhammad Barkati, Samreen Shafiq, Chobdar Sadaf, Abdul Hannan, Ghazala Rizwan Shah, Muhammad Haris Shah, Faroqi Muhammad Abdul Salam, and Muhammad Asif.

The valedictory session, presided over by Dr. Saleem Khan, will feature Noorul Hasnain and Syed Zameer Qadri, Assistant Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Maharashtra, as special guests.

An All India Mushaira will be held on February 1 at 7 PM at Social High School, presided over by Dr. Rauf Khair (Hyderabad). Notable poets participating include Dr. Kaleem Zia, Aslam Ghazi, Javed Nadeem (Mumbai), Tahir Gulshan Abadi, Maseehuddin Abu Nabeel (Hyderabad), Maqbool Ahmed Maqbool (Udgir), Khan Hasnain Aqib (Pusad), Meer Bedari (Bidar), Wajid Akhtar Siddiqui (Gulbarga), Momin Bijapuri (Bijapur), Fareed Moanis (Akot), Manan Azeem (Degloor), Munawar Hussain (Ahmednagar), and others. Bashir Parwaaz, Arzoo Rajasthani, Abdul Wahab Jameel, Shafiuddin Shafi Shattari, Nasiruddin Nasir Ashrafi, Irfan Karigar, Asif Iqbal, and Najmuddin Anjum will also present their poetry. The session will be hosted by Khan Hasnain Aqib.

The organisers have urged literature enthusiasts and scholars to attend in large numbers and contribute to the success of the conference and Mushaira.
