Two-Week Residential Capacity Building Program for School and Madrasah Teachers Begins at UGC MMTTC AMU

Aligarh: A two-week Residential Capacity Building Programme for school and madrasah teachers commenced at the UGC Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Wednesday. Organised in collaboration with the Alliance for Economic and Educational Development of the Underprivileged (AEEDU), New Delhi, the programme has brought together 51 educators from across India for intensive training under the theme “Teaching with Impact: Communication, Innovation, and Integration of AI in Education.”

Inaugurating the programme, Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Honorary Director of the K.A.N. Centre for Quranic Studies, highlighted the teaching profession’s noble mission and the imperative of lifelong learning. He urged participants to cultivate effective communication skills, practice respectful discourse, and ensure their pedagogy remains impactful and relevant.

Welcoming the participants, Dr. Faiza Abbasi, Programme Director, UGC MMTTC AMU, stressed the necessity of adaptability in the evolving educational landscape shaped by AI and data sciences, especially in the wake of NEP 2020 reforms. She shared that the course curriculum includes dynamic modules on gamification in pedagogy, team building, and environmental education. Participants will also undergo evaluations of their speaking, writing, and cognitive abilities and receive practical training in ICT tools and e-content development at the Centre’s advanced computer lab and digital education studio.

On the occasion, appreciation was extended to AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon for her patronage, and acknowledgment was given to Mr. S. Mahmood Akhter, IRS (Retd.), CEO of AEEDU, whose efforts were pivotal in conceptualizing this initiative.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Shamim Uddin, IRS (Retd.), Mentor at AEEDU, lauded the collaboration with AMU, underscoring its immense potential to drive transformative change in the education sector.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. M. Malik Arshad, PGT, STS Boys’ School, AMU, who concluded the inaugural session with a vote of thanks.
