UAE Parliamentary Delegation Explores Academic Collaborations at Jamia Hamdard

New Delhi, Sep 8: A distinguished UAE Parliamentary delegation, led by Dr. Ali Rashid AlNuaimi, visited Jamia Hamdard here Saturday to explore potential avenues for academic collaboration between UAE institutions and the university. The delegation, comprising senior officials and academics from the UAE, was accompanied by Prof. Zikrur Rahman, former Indian Ambassador.

The visiting delegation included prominent figures such as Marwan Almuhairi, Sara Fleknaz, Ahmed Alkhouri, Dr. Hasan Almarzooqi, Ms. Bakhita Alromaithi, Ms. Mariam Alzaabi, Ms. Mahara Saeed, Dr. Mohamed Alshariani, and Dr. Yousef Almarzooqi.

The visit began with a formal introduction of the delegations. Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Vice Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, welcomed the guests and introduced the university’s key officials. Dr. Ali Rashid AlNuaimi, in turn, introduced the distinguished members of the UAE delegation.

During the meeting, discussions centered on enhancing ties between UAE institutions and Jamia Hamdard. Dr. AlNuaimi highlighted the strong and friendly relations between India and the UAE, spanning across multiple levels, including people-to-people and institutional partnerships. He expressed keen interest in exploring collaborative opportunities with both public and private academic institutions.

Prof. Zikrur Rahman provided an overview of Jamia Hamdard’s initiatives and aspirations, particularly in the areas of language and cultural exchanges. He emphasized the university’s commitment to establishing deeper educational and cultural connections between India and the UAE.

A comprehensive video presentation showcasing Jamia Hamdard’s academic programs and research achievements was presented by Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam. The video highlighted the university’s wide array of courses and its contributions to various research fields.

The delegation engaged in productive discussions with Jamia Hamdard’s leadership team, which included Dr. M.A. Sikandar, Registrar, Mr. S.S. Akhtar, Controller of Examinations, Mr. Munish Malik, Finance Officer, and Prof. Syeedun Nisa, Director of Hamdard Institute of International Studies.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing a strong commitment to pursue collaborative opportunities that would benefit the institutions and strengthen educational ties between India and the UAE.
