Kanpur, Jan. 21: Jamiat Ulama Deeni Talimi Board, UP has launched a 19-day Deeni Talimi Campaign (Religious Education Campaign) in Uttar Pradesh. The first session of the campaign was organized at Jamiat Building here.
Maulana Ansar Ahmed Jamai, convener of the Campaign, said in his inaugural speech: “Many programs will be organized in mosques and at street corners in different areas to underline the importance of religious education. He said at the times we are in, the importance of religious education has increased. If we don’t take care of religious education of our boys and girls, it cannot be said whether or not the coming generations will remain believers.”
Maulana Ansar further said, “If we do not impart religious education to our children, there is a possibility that un-Islamic practices and evils will start growing in their minds and hearts. Efforts are being made to distance girls from Islam. The only solution is to establish religious schools (maktabs). There should be maktabs in every mosque and locality consisting of 15 to 20 houses.”
“Efforts of Jamiat Ulema are to ensure every child, boy or girl, not be left unregistered in maktabs. If there is no system of a maktab in the locality, a systematic maktab should be established,” he suggested.
Maulana Ansar stated that maktabs have been established and are being established by the Deeni Talimi Board. Similarly, maktabs for women are running in many areas. “If we want to save the faith of our generation and want them to remain on Deen, Shariah and Islam, there is no way other than establishing a maktab,” he added.
He said the Education Board of Jamiat Ulama has its own curriculum, uniform and ID card. Those who are not able to run a regular system can establish maktabs under Deeni Talimi Board. “If the religious education of children is preserved, a clean and virtuous society will come into existence,” Maulana Ansar stressed.
