VoiceUpNow holds media awareness workshop

Panjim, Goa: Jan. 5: VoiceUpNow, a community YouTube channel organised a Media workshop at the Centre for Study of Philosophy and Humanities (CSPH) here on Monday.

The workshop aimed to build an awareness of the importance of media to create a positive impact in our society, said Mr Asim Ahmed Shaikh, convener of the workshop.

Mr Shoaib Sheikh, Editor Herald Goa conducted a session on Importance of Media.

Speaking on the Progression of dawah using the tools of the era, Mr Sohel Ahmed Naik stated media is an effective tool for conveying the message of Islam and clearing misconceptions. It should be used carefully and effectively, embracing diverse platforms such as social media, literature, and personal interactions to reach a broader audience.

In an open house session on Impact of Documentary and Films, Mr Arman Shaikh stressed how documentaries can be more impactful in providing long-lasting information.

Mr Mohammed Anis emphasized on Role of Muslims in Contemporary India – Narratives and Counter Narratives.

Speaking as Guest Speaker, Amrita Singh, who leads marketing and partnerships at Voicelogue, community media, introduced the gathering to a website called Buland Bol which is a free learning platform to learn video shooting. She also invited the participants to apply for the same.

Mr Asim Ahmed Sheikh conducted a session on Social Media Impact followed by a question-and-answer session.

Concluding the programme, Mr Asif Hussain, Media Co-ordinator for VoiceUpNow encouraged the audience to read more about what’s happening around us and encouraged the audience to actively engage media for community development.

The workshop promoted the importance of media and provided future generations with a platform to raise their voices for the betterment of society as a whole.
