West Bengal Social Activist Pirzada Amin Joins Congress

New Delhi: West Bengal’s well-known social activist Pirzada Amin joined the Congress today.
He was welcomed into the party by AICC General Secretary (West Bengal in-charge) Ghulam Ahmed Mir, AICC Media and Publicity Chairman Pawan Khera, State Congress President Subhankar Sarkar, and State Mahila Congress President Subrata Dutta at the AICC office.
Khera said Pirzada Amin comes from a respected family in West Bengal. He added that the family holds influence in Odisha, Tripura, and West Bengal.
Khera mentioned the family’s role in the Muslim renaissance and in addressing injustices within the community. He said they also promoted education, set up hospitals and technical institutes, and were active in research.
Ghulam Ahmed Mir said the family has long been committed to serving both society and religion.
Pirzada Amin, while speaking, thanked the Congress leadership for their trust. He said Congress is the only party that includes everyone without bias or discrimination.
