Women’s India Movement Forms New District Committee in Kota, Focuses on Women’s Rights and Empowerment

Kota: The Women’s India Movement (WIM) held a meeting today under the chairmanship of state in-charge Mehrun Nisha Khan, who traveled from Jaipur to oversee the proceedings. The meeting resulted in the formation of a new district committee, with Sitara Begum elected as district president, Asma Bi as general secretary, and Nilofar Bano as secretary. Anisa Bano was appointed vice president, and Rubina Bano took on the role of treasurer. Additional committee members include Naima Bano, Naseeb Bano, Chand Bi, Farzana Bano, Kamrosh Bano, and Shoeba Bano.

The state treasurer, Wafiya Ansar, issued a press release highlighting the organization’s commitment to addressing pressing social issues affecting women. In the meeting, state president Farida Syed emphasized the need for collective action to safeguard women’s rights and promote their upliftment.

Key issues discussed during the meeting included:

Women’s Safety: A call for stricter laws to ensure the safety of women, urging the government to take more decisive action.

Women’s Education: The need for increased resources and opportunities for women’s education was highlighted as a critical factor in their empowerment.

Women’s Health: The organization advocated for better healthcare facilities for women, underlining the importance of access to quality health services.

Women’s Rights: The committee reiterated its pledge to work for the protection of women’s rights, aiming to create a more equitable society.

The newly formed district committee is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing these objectives, with members sharing their commitment to the cause and pledging their support in making tangible changes for the betterment of women. This marks a crucial step forward in WIM’s efforts to empower women in Kota, focusing on education, safety, health, and rights.
