World Health Day Celebrated with Quiz Competition and Health Awareness at College of Nursing, AMU

Aligarh: Marking World Health Day, a Quiz Competition was organised at the College of Nursing, Aligarh Muslim University. The event celebrated student excellence, with the first prize jointly awarded to Mohd. Bilal and Adarsh Mohan (Junior Residents, Department of Community Medicine). Mohd. Saif (B.Sc. Nursing 6th Semester) and Ritika (B.Sc. Nursing 4th Semester) secured the second prize, while the third prize went to Mohd. Tabish and Aman (MBBS students, JNMC).

The quiz was conducted by Dr. Danish Kamal and coordinated by Dr. Safeena Beevi S S. Riffat Jahan, a 7th-semester B.Sc. Nursing student and Study Circle member, hosted the event.

In his address as the chief guest, Prof. Mohd. Khalid, Department of Radio-Diagnosis, emphasised the importance of preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle choices.

Prof. Qazi Ehsan, Principal, Paramedical College, highlighted the College of Nursing’s active role in health awareness campaigns across OPDs and hospital wards. He called for collective efforts to promote health and prevent illness.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Prof. Farha Azmi, Principal, College of Nursing, praised the enthusiasm and participation of students across departments. Referring to this year’s theme, “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures”, she underscored the importance of maternal and child health as the cornerstone of a healthy nation. She also spoke on the importance of lifestyle choices in maintaining overall well-being.

Dr. Safeena Beevi S S, speaking as the mentor of health initiatives, discussed ways to strengthen maternal and neonatal healthcare across all levels.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Alfia (4th Semester, B.Sc. Nursing), Coordinator of the Study Circle.
