World Telugu Writer’ Association Holds 6th World Telugu Conference

Vijayawada: The World Telugu Writer’ Association, in collaboration with Krishna District Writer’ Association, organised the 6th World Telugu Conference here on Saturday and Sunday. Since its inception in 2007, the association has been dedicated to preserving and promoting the Telugu language by encouraging its teaching in schools.

Prominent personalities such as Legislative Assembly member Mandali Buddha Prasad, Padmabhushan Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad (MP), Guthikonda Subbarao, and Jeevi Poorna Chandu have continuously supported these conferences, ensuring their success over the years. The two-day conference was conducted across multiple platforms, addressing diverse topics relevant to Telugu literature and its development.

The event witnessed participation from Supreme Court and High Court judges, renowned entrepreneurs, politicians, Legislative Council members, and eminent poets, all of whom contributed to enriching discussions on the Telugu language. Around 1,000 intellectuals attended the conference, which featured five Kavi Sammelans, Gayam Ghazal performances, Katha Natika, and a special training programme for youth. Attendees were honoured with shawls in recognition of their contributions.

Abdul Rasheed, a celebrated Telugu writer, translator, and poet, introduced Idara Adab Islami Hind Sanstha to the audience. Abdul Rasheed, a recipient of prestigious awards such as Sahitya Bhushan, Padma Pratibha, and the NTR Legendary Award, added immense value to the proceedings with his insights and contributions.
