New Delhi, Sep 4: A detailed meeting between the representatives of Sab Ki Seva, a registered charitable trust, and Mr. Charan Singh, Director of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Delhi, took place at Pataudi House, Daryaganj, here. The meeting aimed to discuss potential collaborations between the trust and the government to enhance the impact of their charitable work.
The trust’s President, Abdul Waheed, along with Trustee Muhammad Salimullah Khan and Treasurer Amama Sabri, provided a comprehensive overview of Sab Ki Seva’s current activities. Despite limited resources, the trust has made remarkable strides in various fields, particularly in supporting underprivileged communities.
One of the trust’s key projects is a community education center at Kanchan Kunj, New Delhi, serving children from impoverished slum areas. The center operates in two shifts – morning sessions for boys, with 55 students, and evening sessions for girls, with 95 participants. In addition to education, the children receive books, stationery, uniforms, and midday meals. The trust also runs a sewing center where girls aged 12 to 18 are taught sewing and tailoring skills.
Impressed by these efforts, Mr. Charan Singh expressed his desire to visit the center and has scheduled a visit for September 7. Sab Ki Seva is also registered as an NGO with Tihar Jail, where it provides financial, legal, and other forms of assistance to inmates. The trust extends monthly pensions to the families of some financially distressed prisoners.
Additionally, Sab Ki Seva assists patients from remote areas of Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, and Odisha who come to Delhi for medical treatment, offering guidance on availing appropriate government healthcare schemes.
During the meeting, Mr. Charan Singh highlighted various government schemes, particularly the Jan Laxmi Sansthan (JSS), and suggested that Sab Ki Seva could work on important projects in collaboration with the government. These include initiatives such as the Anti-Drug Scheme, alcohol de-addiction campaigns, and counseling centers. He assured full support from the government for such endeavors.
Muhammad Salimullah Khan and Amama Sabri appreciated Mr. Singh’s suggestions and promised to discuss these opportunities in the trust’s upcoming meeting.
