Hyderabad, Dec. 3: Asfia Anam, an MBBS-qualified medical doctor by profession, has been re-elected City President of GIO Hyderabad.
The organizational elections for the Girls Islamic Organization (GIO) for the year 2024 were conducted at the Islamic Centre, Lakkad Kot, here Saturday under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Mubashir Ahmed, Nazim City, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Hyderabad Chapter. Sister Asfia Anam, a member of GIO Malakpet, has secured her re-election as the City President of Hyderabad for the term spanning January 2024 to December 2024.
Concurrently, the election also resulted in the formation of an 11-member City Advisory Council (CAC). The newly elected Advisory Council members, including Nida Ilham, Munazzah Zareen, Aiman Hasnat, Khansa Waseem, Masira Mullah, Afifa Hasnat, Amtul Basir, Anam Hasnat, Zoha Nikhat, Maryam Haneef, and Sania Maryam, possess diverse qualifications, ranging from Medicine, Pharma, IT Engineering, Nutrition, along with qualifications in Islamic studies and Hifz.
Following their election, Dr. Muhammad Mubashir Ahmed, extended prayers for the newly elected officials, expressing hopes that Allah would grant them the capability to work for the faith and society.
Observers for the elections, namely Abdul Majid Zakir, Mohammad Hussain, and Azam Ali, were also present on this noteworthy occasion.
