Majlis-e-Ala of Anjuman Talimul Muslimeen elects 60-member body

Jaipur, Dec. 25: Voting for the election of 60-member Majlis-e-Ala of Anjuman Talimul Muslimeen Jaipur was held here from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. For better functioning and progress of its educational institutions, 65 candidates contested the elections. Out of total 4489 voters, only 2817 (62.75%) voted. Counting of votes will take place today.

Voters can vote for more than one candidate of their choice. All voters can vote for a maximum of 60 candidates but in case of voting for more than 60 persons, the vote will be cancelled.

Majlis-e-Aala runs educational institutions like Muslim Boys School, Muslim Girls School, Muslim Girls College, Alcon Global English Medium School, Computer Institute, etc.

The Muslim School started as a small madrasa in 1926. To run it, a committee named Islamic Panchayat was formed to which the then Maharaja of the princely state of Jaipur had donated 12003 square yards of land on Moti Dungri Road. Later, a Muslim School started on the same land. To run it a committee of responsible persons of the Muslim community named Anjuman Talimul Muslimeen Jaipur was formed, which is still working.

Prominent among those who voted were MLA Amin Kagzi, U.D. Khan, Sattar, Advocate Mujahid Naqvi, Naeem Rabbani, Asghar Ali, Subhan Khan, Maqbool Hussain, Shabbir Carpet, Shabbir Mecca, Dr. Hussain, Nazir Naqvi, Shaukat Qureshi, Aleem Bhai Patal, Shakoor Naqvi, Latif Arco, Liaquat, Shaukat, etc.

The team that conducted the elections included retired RAS Saeed Ahmed Khan, retired RAS Khan Mohammad, retired Assistant Registrar Dr. Sabir Ali, journalist Shahabuddin, Ghulam Nizamuddin Khan Advocate. Election Assistants were Advocate Shamshul Afrin, Councilor Zahid Nirwan, Observer Retired RPS Irshad Mohammad and Rajasthan University Dean Student Welfare I.U. Khan. The elections were conducted peacefully in the Muslim school campus.
