Nov. 28: Actor Rajshri Deshpande has dedicated her Filmfare Award to the people and innocent children of Gaza and Palestine.

The actor is the founder of Nabhangan Foundation, a not-for-profit NGO working in the fields of rural regeneration and community building to empower villages to self-reliance.
Nabhangan was founded, keeping in mind that 68.6 percent of our total population lives in Rural India, yet only a fraction of the development touches these parts, 70 percent of the rural economy depends upon Agriculture, yet this is one of the most overlooked economic sectors, 65 percent of the natural resources of rural India are getting degraded, yet not many care about it and 25 percent of the world’s food production comes from Rural India, yet 1 million farmers committed suicide in the last 20 years.
