– Raheem Khan

Jaipur, April 10: Every year during the holy month of Ramadan, Dargah Mir Qurban Ali on Sansar Chand Road in Jaipur hosts three special Iftar programs, drawing dignitaries and citizens alike from across the city. This cherished tradition, upheld for years, sees gatherings on the 16th, 25th, and 29th days of Ramadan.

During the recent Iftar on the 29th day of Ramadan, Dargah Sajjadanashin Dr. Syed Habibur Rahman Niazi led a heartfelt prayer for peace, brotherhood, and unity in the country, urging all to transcend sectarian divisions. He joyously noted the coinciding celebrations of Chetichand and Gangaur festivals with Eid, emphasizing their shared message of unity under the divine.

Dr. Niazi further appealed to the people to exercise their voting rights fully in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, advocating for a leader who champions inclusivity and unity among all communities. Eid festivities, he announced, would culminate with prayers at 9:30 am on April 11 at Dargah Mir Qurban Ali.

Naib Sajjada Nashin Syed Faizur Rahman Niazi echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of communal harmony and goodwill during the month of Ramadan. He prayed for divine blessings to alleviate the nation’s challenges and hardships.

The first Iftar program of the month was held on the 16th day of Ramadan, with Dr. Syed Habibur Rahman Niazi underscoring the spiritual significance of the holy month – a time for increased rewards and self-discipline. He lamented the misunderstanding of Zakat’s purpose, stressing its role in uplifting the financially disadvantaged.

Reflecting on the essence of fasting beyond mere abstention, Syed Faizur Rahman Niazi emphasized the need for continued righteousness and service beyond Ramadan. The second Iftar, held on the 25th day of Ramadan, welcomed local celebrities and devoted Rozedars, with Dr. Habib ur Rahman Niazi underscoring the importance of charitable acts in Islam.

The gatherings not only foster spiritual reflection but also serve as platforms for community service and support for the less fortunate. Former Rajya Sabha MP Ashk Ali Tank and Adarsh Nagar MLA Rafiq Khan graced these occasions, adding to the spirit of communal unity and goodwill.

These Ramadan Iftar gatherings at Dargah Mir Qurban Ali exemplify the spirit of togetherness and compassion, transcending religious and cultural boundaries to embrace the shared values of peace and service. They serve as poignant reminders of the enduring message of unity and harmony within the diverse fabric of Jaipur’s community.
