18 Jun. 24: As the Muslim community around the world is celebrating Eid al-Adha, Mohammed Fazlurrahim Mujaddidi, General Secretary of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, has shared a heartfelt message emphasizing the core values of the festival.
In his address, Mujaddidi highlighted the significance of Eid al-Adha, which commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering obedience to Allah. He reminded Muslims that this occasion is a profound reminder of the values that define Islam: faith, humility, and devotion.
“Eid al-Adha underscores the essence of complete submission to the will of God, transcending personal desires and ego,” Mujaddidi said. He explained that sacrifice goes beyond the physical act of offering an animal. “It symbolizes our readiness to sacrifice our ego, arrogance, and material attachments in favor of spiritual growth and righteousness.”
Mujaddidi urged Muslims to examine their actions and motives, guarding against hypocrisy and insincerity in their worship and daily lives.
He also took the opportunity to express solidarity with Palestinian brothers and sisters who are unable to celebrate Eid al-Adha due to ongoing violence and aggression. “It is our moral obligation to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and pray to Allah to end their sufferings,” he stated.
Concluding his message, Mujaddidi extended his warm wishes to the Muslim community. “Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Eid al-Adha filled with peace, happiness, and spiritual fulfillment. Eid Mubarak!”
