Jaipur, Dec. 22: More than 17 unidentified youth attacked Hotel Samundram near Sindhi Camp Central Bus Stand here Wednesday. Unidentified youth created a ruckus in the hotel for about half an hour, causing chaos and panic on Station Road.

Hotel owner Mohammad Sami Arco said that on Wednesday at around 6 am, more than 17 youth entered the hotel and vandalized it with sticks and threatened the staff, due to which the staff somehow saved their lives.

The attackers broke all the cameras, glass items, LEDs, gates, refrigerators, fans, etc. and looted lakhs of rupees in cash. This incident spread panic among the passengers staying in the hotel. Sami said the accused have been identified from the CCTV footage installed in the hotel. An FIR regarding the entire episode has been lodged. The police station officer has promised to take immediate action and arrest the accused.

He has alleged that the accused in today’s incident are the students living in Rajput Hostel, some of whom have been identified by looking at the CCTV footage. “These boys had come to eat at the restaurant earlier also. These people keep carrying out such incidents every day by threatening hotel and restaurant staff,” said Sami.

He said Jaipur is a famous tourist destination where tourists from all over the country and abroad come. “If such incidents happen near the bus stand, how will tourists come?”

He also expressed apprehension that because he belonged to a particular community, his hotels were being targeted.
