Karnataka: A delegation from Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Karnataka met with Dr. Veerendra Heggade, a member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024, to express the concerns and objections of the Muslim community regarding the proposed bill.
The delegation included Dr. Saad Belgami, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Karnataka, Muhammad Kani from Shanti Prakashan, Secretary Akbar Ali, Advocate Muhammad Ali, Ameen Hassan, Maulana K.T. Tanghal Madani, Sarraj, and Javed, a representative of the Rafah Chamber of Commerce Mangalore.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the potential adverse effects the bill could have on the Muslim community and urged Dr. Heggade to consider these issues during discussions at the government level.
