New Delhi: The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Syed Sadatullah Husaini, has described the recently declared ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian resistance as a “positive and hopeful step” following months of brutal violence in Gaza.
In a statement to the media, Husaini said the ceasefire offers long-awaited relief for Gaza’s people, who have endured immense suffering. He emphasized that real peace will only be achieved with the creation of a fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state where citizens live with dignity, security, and freedom.
Husaini praised global voices that opposed the war and stood in solidarity with Palestinians. He said the widespread protests had exposed the hypocrisy of many governments while showcasing humanity’s enduring moral conscience. He urged people worldwide to remain vigilant until Palestine gains its full rights, free from occupation, blockade, and fear.
Calling for a civilian administration in Gaza that reflects the will of its people, he warned against foreign interference under the guise of stabilization. Husaini appealed for immediate humanitarian and reconstruction aid, stressing that Gaza’s people need food, medicine, housing, and education, not symbolic sympathy. He said hospitals and schools must be rebuilt and essential services restored without delay.
Husaini lauded the resilience of Palestinians, calling their perseverance a moral lesson for the world. He concluded by urging the international community, including the Indian government, to support Palestine’s full statehood and contribute to post-war reconstruction efforts.
