Muslim Boy Expelled from UP School Over Alleged Non-Veg Lunch Sparks Outrage

Amroha, Sep 7: In a disturbing incident that has ignited widespread outrage, a 7-year-old Muslim student at Hilton Convent School in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, was expelled for allegedly bringing non-vegetarian food in his lunchbox. The incident, which took place on Thursday, has led to accusations of discrimination and Islamophobia against the school’s administration, reported the Clarion India.

The controversy erupted after the school’s principal, Avnish Mishra, reportedly had a heated exchange with the child’s mother, following which the student was suspended. A video of the confrontation, which has since gone viral on social media, shows the mother vehemently denying that her son brought non-vegetarian food to school.

“My son did not bring non-vegetarian food in his tiffin,” she asserts in the video.

Despite her protests, Principal Mishra stood firm, stating that the school prohibits students from bringing non-vegetarian food and accusing Muslim students of intending to “destroy Hindu temples.” These remarks have been widely condemned as promoting harmful stereotypes.

Samiullah Khan, a social activist, expressed his dismay at the principal’s behavior, labeling it as both unjust and discriminatory.

“This incident is a clear example of the deep-rooted hatred some individuals harbor against Muslims,” he said.

“Such actions are unacceptable, and we must not allow our children to be subjected to this kind of bigotry.”

The incident has quickly escalated into a larger communal issue, with protests from the Muslim community demanding action against the school. In response, the District School Inspector has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter, forming a three-member committee to examine the allegations.

“We are taking this issue very seriously and will ensure that a fair investigation is conducted,” said a representative from the Inspector’s office.

“No child should be subjected to such treatment in an educational environment.”

The incident has also sparked a broader conversation about the treatment of Muslims in India, with many pointing out that this is not an isolated case. Similar incidents of discrimination against Muslim students have been reported across Uttar Pradesh and other states, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of minority communities in the region.

Social media has been flooded with comments condemning the school’s actions, with many expressing shock and anger at the principal’s remarks. “This is not just about a lunchbox,” said one local resident. “It’s about the growing intolerance and prejudice that Muslims are facing every day. We need to unite against this injustice and ensure that our children are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.”

As the investigation continues, the Muslim community in Amroha is urging parents to remain vigilant and to demand fair treatment for their children in schools. There are also calls for the establishment of more Muslim-run schools to ensure that children receive an education that respects their cultural and religious identities.
