New Delhi, Dec. 25: The Society for Bright Future (SBF) organised a workshop on disaster management for women teachers at The Scholar School here Sunday.
During the workshop, Mr. Sushil Kumar (Civil Defence, Delhi) gave training to women teachers on first aid, fire-fighting, methods of rescue during fire at home and school, and how to rescue in an earthquake.
Training in Paramedical Psycho Physiotherapy was given by Professor Badrul Islam Kairanavi (Former Training Commissioner, KVSBSG, Ministry of HRD.
Sadia Yasmeen (Assistant Secretary, Women’s Wing, JIH Delhi) explained to the teachers the importance of volunteering. Dr. Sheeba Aslam Fahmi (Social Worker and Writer), and Areeba Khan (Ward Counselor, A.F. Enclave) were present as chief guests.
All the guests appreciated the training program, deeming it an excellent effort for the upliftment and awareness among society. They also said this will lead to intellectual development of school students and prove to be a lifesaver during disasters.
Concluding the training program, SBF National Coordinator Irfan Ahmed made some important points and shed light on the tireless efforts made by the organization in the field of disaster management. He also stressed the importance of this training.
Around 50 teachers participated in this training program and learned the problems that can occur during disasters and their prevention measures.
SBF is an organization, which has been working for relief and rescue work in disaster management at the national level for years. It has so far organized hundreds of workshops for prevention from various disasters and has thousands of trained volunteers at the national level who are selflessly dedicated to rescue work during disasters.
Dr. Aamir Jamal (volunteer coordinator) initiated the workshop, citing some verses from the Quran, and Marsha Rashid moderated it.
