New Delhi, Dec. 10: Society for Bright Future (SBF), while launching its 2024 project Rahat winter relief program, distributed blankets among hundreds of needy families of Shaheen Bagh, Abul Fazal Enclave and other nearby areas at Jasola Heights Complex on Saturday.
SBF since its inception has distributed more than 2 lakh blankets to the poor and needy in 16 states. In 2023 it distributed more than 23000 blankets in these states and in 2024 they have a target to distribute 25000 blankets.
The chief guest of the program was Mr. Hidayatullah, renowned social worker and president social media, Congress Party, New Delhi.
M.H. Anarwala, Retd. IPS and president of SBF, appreciated the efforts of SBF and described it as a source of inspiration for the society. He also asked philanthropists and other social activists to support SBF so that it can provide relief for more people every year, thus bringing help and hope for the millions of poor people in the country.
On this occasion, Dr. Aamir Jamal, National Volunteer Coordinator, said, Blanket distributed service is not a favor, but a responsibility, which has to be delivered to the rightful persons. SBF is actively doing this work voluntarily. Aamir added that the objective of this program is to create awareness among the people that people should not snatch the rights of any rightful person.
If we look at the activities of the last 5 years, rehabilitation and humanitarian assistance has been provided for about 95 lakh people. SBF is a leading social organization of the country, working to prevent and reduce the risk of disasters across India, providing relief during such events and rehabilitating the affected people and bringing them back to normal life. Its objective is to encourage human activities to prevent and reduce disasters and thereby contribute to the safety and security of mankind.
Earlier, SBF distributed blankets in slums of South East and South Districts, Delhi where their shanties were burned completely. It distributed 1000 Blankets in Tihar Jail, Delhi during winter in 2015, 1000 warm clothes during winter in 2016. It also distributed warm clothes in Old Aged Home Delhi during winter 2017, 2000 blankets in 22 locations at Delhi during winter 2019-20.
SBF also distributed 1.8 lakh blankets and quilts to poor people during the winter season of 2011 to 2021 in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
Dr. Aamir Jamal, Mr. Faiyaz Iqbal (Project Coordinator) and Mr. Ashar Alam (PR Coordinator) played active roles in organizing this programme.
