Jaipur, Feb. 12: Unani Day was celebrated on Sunday at Amar Jain Hospital in Vaishali Nagar under the aegis of All India Tibbi Congress Rajasthan (AITC-R) and Rajputana Old Boys Association. A large number of Unani doctors participated in the event. Dr. Shekhar Harvyasi, CEO of Amar Jain Hospital was Guest of Honor.
The central government had announced to celebrate Hakim Ajmal Khan’s birthday as Unani Day on February 11 every year.
Dr. Shaukat Ali, AITC-R President said Unani medicine is thousands of years old, but for the past 100 years, allopathy has dominated the common people, due to which people have forgotten Unani medicine. However, people are slowly returning to Unani medicine.
He said Unani medicines may seem expensive to people, but if analyzed, they will be found to be cheaper. He said Unani Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country and abroad wherever Unani doctors are present. On this occasion, many doctors were also felicitated.
